What is Screen Printing?

Screen Printing, also referred to as "silk screening" or "silk screen printing," involves the process of transferring a stenciled design onto a flat surface using a mesh screen, ink and a squeegee. Fabric and paper are the most commonly screen-printed surfaces, but with the use of specialized inks you are capable of printing onto plastic, wood, glass and metal.  We use a light-sensitive emulsion that is applied to the screens which is used as stencil and it is developed in a similar way to a photograph.  Once the emulsion is dried to the screen, a tabloid film positive that is printed out with an opaque inkjet printer is then exposed with a light from an exposure unit onto the screen, after which the design is sprayed out of the screen with a high pressure washer. 

In Screen Printing simple designs can be created with the use of a single screen and one color at a time as well as using multiple screens for handling designs with multiple color layers. A screen will be used for each color for multiple colored designs.  Quality Screen Printed garments printed and cured correctly are made to last years through hundreds washes.

What is Heat Transfer printing?

Heat transfer printing method is an advanced version of the iron on printing method originally done in the past.  Heat transfers offer a larger and more even printing method to press and decorate with full color designs for a low cost on smaller more personalized orders. Heat Transfer is defined as a digital design printed on siliconized paper and cut to fit design with use of a plotter. The design is then transferred to the garment or textile by applying heat and pressure with a heat press machine.  Heat Transfers are capable of applying designs onto various styles of clothing, fabrics, and accessories.
